Other thing to look out for is the touch screen on the 2013s have been known to have a lot of reseting and glitchy issues. So you said you are looking at a 2013 Rallye, SO that is more than likely a 2.0 with an auto as the GT was the only one to have the 2.4, but it is very possible that one could have the turbo. I have driven one, it's slightly noticeable, but it's not like WOT!!!.okay go. And the drive by wire throttle we have (on all cars) tends to be very delayed on that combo as many people have mentioned. lol The engine isn't underpowered per se, however, the car is HEAVY for it's class. You said you didn't want performance, and with the above, you will get your wish. A lot of time, just software issues are the biggest reasons the transmissions go into limp mode. And of course, things can go wrong, I have seen threads with people having issues with that trans, but it has been very rare and I don't think it was "need a new transmission" type of bad. I mean.the 2.0 is pretty much the same as it was years ago, and the Hyundai transmission that is paired to it is a traditional type of auto (unlike the dual dry clutch paired to the turbos) so not too much can go wrong. Those have proved to be the most reliable and consistent combo. Except the auto trans bushing, but that's not a MAJOR issue, and the part is only like $1 to fix + free at the dealer if they have the parts.īut going off of that, to OP, I would say go with a 2.0 with the automatic transmission. Sure the 2.0 and auto on there have had issues, but nothing that we can commonly point to being a fault where almost every one of them suffer from it. I would agree 2013 saw most issues, but that was also with either the manual, turbo, or DDCT. So to the point: what is your opinion on the reliability of the 2013 Dart Rallye? This particular one has 81,825 miles on it.Ĭlick to expand.I would disagree with some of this. She has had a lot of problems with it, in comparison to her old car, a Toyota Minivan that never had anything wrong with it for the ten years my mother had it. My mother took the plunge last year and deviated from our family’s tradition of only Japanese cars, by buying a 3018 Chevy Traverse. They aren’t so sure about the reliability of American cars, which I can understand. So anyway, the only problem my parents have with purchasing a Dart is reliability. There were other options that had paddle shifters on them, which my parents would have been fine with, but for some reason I’m really drawn to the Dart. It is FWD, automatic, and has a backup camera. Through my search, the Dart Rallye has managed to fall under the criteria of my parents. I have done extensive research for the past 2 years on things like this, and I promise I won’t be doing anything stupid. ![]() Before you write me off as a stupid kid, do not fret. So I’ve been desperately trying to find something that has at least a shred of performance capability. Unfortunately, this car is meant to be a kid car, that will be handed off to my brother when I go off to college. After a lot of arguing, my parents have whittled me down to the point where they will only purchase a car that is either FWD or AWD, no RWD, and automatic transmission, despite me being able to drive manual. I am someone who is currently in the position to purchase a 2013 Dart Rallye. This is my first thread ever, so sorry for any informalities. why i do mention performance and/or driveability? because the dart is fat and the engine is small.Hello everyone. Rear stabilizer bar and beefier suspension would be nice, but again can you find better aftermarket options at far less than what chrysler charges? ![]() I have the leather wrapped wheel, i do enjoy the feel of leather Seat strips with accent stitching? agree it looks nicer, but adds no performance The dual exhaust sounds nice and looks nice, but adds no performance and that stock muffler is pretty heavy IIRC I bough the 17 inch hyper black wheels at $200 each, gave me a nicer look and better ride, but my car is slower with them mounted I would like the fog lights, they are $200, but they add no performance about $5k more in sticker price for additional parts that go for about half aftermarket? i dunno.
